El Centro de Documentación de la Imagen de Santander (CDIS), del Ayuntamiento de Santander, es una institución especializada en la gestión de patrimonio fotográfico histórico de propiedad municipal.

El Centro pertenece al Ayuntamiento de Santander y posee además una Sala de Exposiciones para difundir dicho patrimonio.

Entre sus fondos conserva una colección del médico, humanista y liberal Gregorio Marañón (1887-1960), cuyas obras en los ámbitos científico e histórico tuvieron una gran relevancia internacional.

De las 98 imágenes que componen la citada colección, se han seleccionado para la exposición que tendrá lugar en la sala del CDIS, atendiendo al proceso fotomecánico, 18 fotograbados  y fototipias realizados en 1926, 1929 y 1931 que muestran escenas cotidianas, arquitectura y paisaje  de viajes por diferentes lugares del mundo (Moscú, Tallin, Tetuán, Estocolmo, Fez…).

The Documentation Center of the Image of Santander (CDIS) is an institution specialized in the management of historical photographic heritage of Santander.

CDIS belongs to the Santander City Council and has an Exhibition Hall to disseminate its heritage.

Among its collections there is one from the physician, humanist and liberal Gregorio Marañón (1887-1960), whose works in the scientific and historical fields had a great international relevance.

This collection is composed by 98 images. From where, 18 photogravures and photo types have been selected for the exhibition that will take place in the CDIS hall for Encuentro Impact 10.

The images were made in 1926, 1929 and 1931according to the photomechanical process and show everyday scenes, architecture and landscape from trips for different parts of the world (Moscow, Tallinn, Tetouan, Stockholm, Fez, etc.)
