El dibujo está en el centro de mi práctica, y es dado vuelo por las técnicas disponibles en el aguafuerte. Las aguafuertes, como extensión del dibujo, son el compromiso material que describe una visión experiencial del lugar.

Mi investigación me pone en contacto con artistas cuya evidencia enriquece la comprensión de por qué los grabadores tienen una conexión material de investigación con el acto de dibujar y arroja luz sobre las tensiones inherentes a ser un practicante creativo.

Wendy Rhodes Picken. I am a PhD researcher and practicing artist exploring the reciprocal nature of drawing and etching.

Drawing is at the core of my practice, and is given flight by the techniques available in etching.

The etchings, as an extension of drawing, are material engagement describing an experiential view of place.

My research brings me into contact with practitioners whose evidence enriches understanding of why etchers have an investigative material connection with the act of drawing and sheds light on the tensions inherent in being a creative practitioner.
